OK - I've not done the maths on this, but where would a 30,000,000 player sit in terms of other identifiable quantities?
How many full houses at the Boleyn would cover that fee (assuming no other costs)?
How many minutes on live TV?
If he played every game in a season, how much per minute would that be?
How many official named shirts need to be sold to recoup that money?
How much longer will certain posters say Allerdyce should have stayed?
That sort of thing.

Don't matter if he's shit these days, he played for us once, that's enough and he can 100% bring back "what might have been" if he'd stayed.

Honestly! What does anyone think Sullivan is supposed to say? If he says yes there are consequences. If he says no there are the opposite consequences. He says that it is possible but we need 5 or 6 players....

In all honesty, i'd rather see us bring in 4 or 5 decent players of Kouyate / Cresswell standard.
That's more like what we need.

David SullivanDavid Sullivan has admitted the Hammers could spend up to £30 million on a major player this summer but that it’s unlikely!
He wants to strengthen across the board but in exclusive comments to ClaretandHugh has made it clear “anything is possible” were certain situations to arise.
The issue was raised in a lengthy Telegraph article this morning by reporter Jason Burt who wrote: “The club could feasibly bid £30 million for a player this summer as a statement of intent. It has been discussed.
They are determined to make a concerted effort to break into the top six and, who knows, maybe even challenge for one of those Champions League places. Although the general public may be unaware of what might be happening, other clubs are not.”
Now -speaking to us earlier this morning – the co chairman and chief shareholder has made it clear that, unlikely though it might be, it could happen!
He said: “We could spend that amount (£30 million) this Summer but very unlikely on one player as we need five or six MINIMUM.”
However, he added: “Were the club to move on a few “lesser” squad players ANYTHING is possible.”

I think it's just a case of those who get off on negative news and press just shout far louder and longer than those who don't.
It's usually a (very) vocal minority who seek to criticise anything the club attempts on here.
